Tee-off for charity at Drakensberg Gardens

The Annual Charity Golf Tournament will take place at the Drakensberg Gardens Golf and Leisure Resort on 7th–10th December 2007.

Located on a scenic 860 acre estate in the heart of the Southern Drakensberg, the resort proudly boasts the only 18-hole golf course in the area and overlooks the picturesque Lake KwaNyoni with the majestic mountains as a backdrop.

The Bergview Primary School is based less than two kilometres from the resort. The school is a community initiative to give the 48 children access to education and offer an equal opportunity for a positive future.

Gooderson Leisure Corporation has pledged R190,000.00 in the past 18 months to "Project Build," formally the Natal School Project Trust. The project was established in 1985 with the objective of building good quality school facilities that are attractive yet cost effective. The aim of the trust is to improve the pupil classroom ratio and create better working conditions for teaching staff, which in turn improves the quality of life in the school community.

The funds raised by Gooderson Leisure Corporation enabled the building of four flush toilets, a principals' office and much needed kitchen.

Tournament registration is now open and players can register up until the 30th November 2007.

Gooderson Leisure Corporation is offering special accommodation packages to all players as well as spectators.
