Alicia McFadzean transforms vandalised Mini Cooper
Below is an art piece by the talented Alicia McFadzean (Cheeky Observer). The vehicle, which was in a burnt state prior to the artwork, was torched on 6 May in an attempt to discourage Sea Point residents Peter and Lesley Wagenaar - the owners of the car - from feeding homeless people. McFadzean said she was delighted by the opportunity to transform the exterior of the Mini into an artwork that is reflective of the Wagenaars' ethos.
The car now serves as a mobile artwork, a medium for conflict resolution, and a vehicle to raise funds for social welfare enhancing projects. The makeover was revealed this past weekend at a fundraiser in Sea Point, Cape Town.
