G-Star presents Cape Town Raw Night
On 12 December, international denim brand G-Star RAW hosted their first RAW Night in Africa, with an eclectic mix of performance, art, music, fashion and film.
Cape Town's RAW Night transformed a historical Art Deco building in the heart of the vibrant Cape Town CBD into part nightclub, part performance art and part art gallery, to test the power of art as entertainment. Known for his large experiential sculptures and interactive art objects around the world, an exclusive exhibition by Daniel Popper entitled "Robots" was exhibited alongside exclusive denim art objects from G-Star's Atelier in Amsterdam. The Night was complemented with a 'forbidden' combination of live musical performances by AKA featuring DA L.E.S, Nakhane Toure and DJs Binary and Wildbeats.
Celebrities such as AKA, DA L.E.S, Nakhane Toure, and Lunga Shabalala (MC for the evening) joined Nicole Flint, Katlego Maboe, Alex McGregor, Bjorn Steinbach, Ty Keogh, Tracey McGregor, Ryan Botha, Kerishni Niaker, Siv Ngesi, Natalie Becker for an stellar evening. Western Province Rugby players Damian De Allende, Juan Dejongh, Dayne Peterson, Scarra Ntubeni, and Siya Kolisi also celebrated the inaugural RAW Nights by G-Star.
