Something to chew on

Having just seen Orbit 'Professional' chewing gum for the first time, I'm bemused but delighted.

As a brand strategist, my immediate reaction was one of thrilled wonder at the opportunities this might present. After all, if chewing gum can be 'Professional', then what else might not be possible? The revamped Toyota Yaris, with 5% organic cotton and now available in Berry flavour? How about new and improved Huggies with reduced alcohol? No longer are we constrained by mere logic and reason! I sent Orbit my silent thanks for setting us adrift on a sea of unabated lunacy.

And then a second possibility occurred to me. What if this was a move to formalise gum-chewing as a career choice? What has up till now been a hobby, an amateur pastime, can now offer aspirant masticators the dream of professional success. Brilliant.

Kudus all round. Not just chewing gum....Professional!
