Original ideas
Is it really true that great minds think alike or is it just that great ideas are adopted over and over again.
I was confused whether the MTN TV commercial I saw recently on screen ("keep one hand free" or some like that...) was an original idea that I felt was quite witty and really relevant to a mobile network or just a deja vu. That was until I remembered that it was very similar to the Ericsson T20 TV campaign by Y&R London done in April of 2001 ("great to hold... hard to put down"), done by Graham Norways (Art director) and Paul Catmur (copywriter).
Really hope I’m wrong or that the creative team and agency behind the MTN ads have an original line as to how this happened.
