Why do the Mobile Networks Rip everyone off!

Let's face it, everytime you purchase, or send out a short code, you are getting totally ripped off by the mobile networks. I believe that what they are doin should be illegal, as they are acting as a bank and taking a HUGE percentage of a business transaction that you as a business are providing to your customers.

If anyone feels that this is truly an issue that needs addressing, I'd love to hear how we can go about stopping their profiteering, while the customer gets get ripped off, and we, the business make back a marginal profit, to cover costs.
