Storylines on etv's Scandal

Are the writers at Scandal just a bit lost with what to do with their Indian character so they introduce the tired old arranged marriage storyline?

I mean really; how about ditching the stereotype and for once when writing an Indian character actually write something that isn't informed by Bollywood and perceptions? Or is that just too hard?

Surely exploring a bit more on her relationship with Daniel (ooh Black Man, Indian woman,,very racy!) than trotting out the same old same old is a bit more interesting.

But then, considering that all the characters on scandal and rhythm city might as well be cardboard, why should Nadia be any different?
