UCT brings business big five to Gauteng

The UCT Graduate School of Business (GSB) will bring five of its highly-rated courses to the Gauteng business community this April. The courses cover a wide spectrum of critical performance areas, from project management and strategic HR to finance.

According to Elaine Rumboll, Director of the Executive Education unit at the UCT GSB, the decision to bring five top business courses to Gauteng is in response to requests from both alumni and corporate organisations. She added that a recent international rating has added to the demand for UCT business short courses.

"Interest has been boosted by the recent international rating that the Executive Education unit received from the Economist Intelligence Unit, the business-to-business arm of The Economist Group, which publishes The Economist. The rating saw UCT place in the global top ten for its short courses. The Gauteng business community now have an opportunity to benefit from this excellence in their backyard." said Rumboll.

The April programme of courses kicks off with Project Management - A Business Approach from 3 - 6 April which teaches how a project is conceptualised and initiated in support of an organisation's strategy and business plans. Next up is Finance for Non-Financial Managers on 3 - 7 April which handles interpreting financial statements and analysing the financial performance and position of a company. Third is a brand new course called Delivery! on capability building in operations management on 3 - 7 April.

The April programme of courses is capped off with Strategic Human Resource Management also on 3 - 7 April, a course with a successful track record of under the guidance of Professor Frank Horwitz, the Director of the UCT GSB.
