Entrepreneurs on the agenda in Cape Town
The South African Forum for Entrepreneurship (SAFE) is to be launched in Cape Town on 12 August and will focus on entrepreneurial leadership, innovation, financial literacy, marketing strategy, business planning and implementation. Raymond Ackerman, chairperson of Pick 'n Pay, will be the keynote speaker at the launch.
Sacha Sorrell, a director of the organizers Real Training, says: "It is widely accepted that entrepreneurship - and the jobs entrepreneurs create - are key to South Africa's transformation.
"The philosophy of SAFE is to educate and empower entrepreneurs to initiate and grow businesses, thereby creating jobs; SAFE aims to help entrepreneurs and key decision makers in corporations and government to develop their entrepreneurial skills and grow networking opportunities through research and an interactive environment."
Event proceeds will go to the Raymond Ackerman Academy for Entrepreneurship, which supports disadvantaged entrepreneurs.
