Free tickets to Mandela documentary
Ster-Kinekor is offering free tickets to the people of Soweto, to share in the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's release from prison and celebrate the life of South Africa's most beloved leader at the free 8pm screening of the documentary Mandela: Son of Africa, Father of a Nation at Maponya Mall on Thursday 11 February 2010.
Directed by Jo Menell and Angus Gibson, the film traces Madiba's life from his early days to his inauguration as the first black president in South Africa, a moment that would later change the face of politics and, indeed, life in South Africa.
The documentary forms part of the Free At Last Film Festival, which runs in Cape Town and Johannesburg (Wits University & Maponya Mall) from 11-13 February 2010 (www.freeatlast.co.za). Viewers must book at the cinema between Wednesday 10 February and before noon on Thursday 11 February.
