In the past two years, Toronto has made the world premieres of John Barker’s Bunny Chow and Khalo Matabane’s Conversations on a Sunday Afternoon. In addition, Gavin Hood’s Tsotsi made its North American premiere in Toronto, winning the Audience Award for Most Popular Film.
Toronto is looking for new feature-length films, both fiction and documentary, as well as exceptional documentaries of any length. Television films and programs not accepted at this time.
World premieres are preferred, and a North American premiere is a minium requirement. Submitted films must be completed by 1 August but can screen in fine-cut form for selection purposes. Screenings will be held from 9 - 11 May at the National Film and Video Foundation offices.
All films to be submitted need to be on DVD format only. The deadline for submission of films is Monday 7 May by 4pm the latest.
