New Western Cape Barista Champions
The 2013 Western Cape Barista Champions have been selected; they are David Coleman from Ours Café in Kalk Bay, who won the main title, Tyrone Bester from Global Coffee, who won the Cup Tasters title and Luyolo from Hazz Café in Stellenbosch, who won the Latte Art title.
The other finalists: Rodreck Nzirainengwe from Union Hand Roasted, Zack Napper from Ours Café, Bilbo Steyn of Origin Coffee Roasting, Stephan Brits of W Café and Tribeca and Guy Mugumbo from Hazz join the winners in the national finals to be held in Johannesburg in September to compete against other regional finalists for the National Barista Championship title. The winner of the national title competes at the World Title event in Italy in 2014.
The contest, sponsored by Checkers and De'Longhi among others, was held at the Cape Town Good Food & Wine Show.
