Call to enter Butlers Bartender Challenge
Butlers is calling for entries to its challenge, in which bartenders are asked to enter six consecutive challenges showing off various skills, including personal service style, innovation and building a signature cocktail, to stand the chance to compete in the live final to be held in Joburg on 9 December 2015.
"We are well aware of the significant amount of skill and practice required to become a really good bartender," commented Vanessa Nel of DGB, who is also one of the challenge's judges, "and we wanted to give back to this dedicated community by rewarding the best of the best for their expertise."
The Butlers Bartender Challenge online competition will run for a 12-week period from today, 1 September, to 23 November.
The top 10 bartenders chosen via the online platform will be invited to partake in the live final in Johannesburg on 9 December, and the prizes to be won are:
- 1st Prize: Title: Butlers Bartender Challenge 2015 Champion; A Giles and Moore bar roll-up, Orb copper orb cocktail shaker plus R10,000 in cash;
- 2nd Prize: A Carter cocktail shaker plus R5000 in cash;
- 3rd Prize: A Carter cocktail shaker plus R2500 in cash.
