Living the highlife
Hopefuls had to text their name and ID number to 32945 and, at the top of each hour, the presenter on-air would call out five names. The lucky listeners who managed to call the studio first received a cash prize of R1000 and an exclusive invitation to the Millionaire Breakfast on Friday, 19 October.
In less than three weeks, between 1 and 19 October 2007, more than 200 000 entries were received and more than 15 000 web-page impressions were recorded.
“We received an average of 20 000 SMSes per day for this competition and every hour we would dip into the pot for a fresh set of names. We were really overwhelmed by the response from listeners.” said 94.5 Kfm programming manager Ian Bredenkamp.
Locally, Wyllie spent the week paragliding, hanging out in the city's trendiest nightspots and watching the Rugby World Cup final at the Castle of Good Hope.
One flight later
One flight on Virgin Atlantic Upper Class later and the couple were living the highlife in the luxurious Langham Hotel in London, taking in the sights and dining at the finest restaurants in the city.
As a special treat, they got the chance to watch Chelsea hammer Manchester City live at Stanford Bridge.
“I think a lot of people are pinching themselves now, thinking, ‘Man, I should have entered' as this guy is being spoiled rotten! We couldn't have asked for a better winner than Marc Wyllie though, he's been great and he sounds like a presenter on air!” said Bredenkamp.
The promotion concluded on Tuesday 30 October with a live broadcast of the Breakfast show, hosted by Nic Marais, from the ultra-luxurious millionaire suite at the Table Bay Hotel.
