GIBS and Georgia Tech join forces for Emerging to Converging Technology Conference
Delegates will hear global thought-leaders, world-renowned experts on the state of emerging technologies and will learn how to harness the power of cutting-edge concepts such as machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, sensor technology, blockchain and biotech. They will leave with an understanding of how these technologies are converging and what the implications of this evolution means in practice by unpacking real-world initiatives.
Headlining the world-class programme is keynote speaker, Professor Kenneth Oye, a political scientist and engineering expert with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Oye will share the podium with the likes of Dr Katherine Kuchenbecker, Director of the Haptic Intelligence Department at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart, Germany; Georgia Tech’s machine learning expert Dr Sebastian Polutta; GIBS Manoj Chiba and Tony Christodoulou; Kenyan entrepreneur Brian Bosire; Ugandan energy innovator Elizabeth Nyeko, as well as Professor Bitang Ndemo from the University of Nairobi’s School of Business, Georgia Tech’s Dr Soumen Ghosh and synthetic neurobiology scholar, Dr Osh Agabi.
These experts will unpack topics ranging from how to use AI and data analysis to solve Africa’s healthcare issues; harnessing the power of big data to empower African smallholder farmers; highlight ways in which blockchain technology can solve real-world problems; exploring the impact of digital technologies on a global supply chain; and catching up on the advances being made in computer science and robotics.
On top of gaining exposure to trailblazing thinking and global expertise, delegates will get the opportunity to network and engage through interactive executive panel discussions.
