New GM to drive Primedia Outdoor into Africa

Cornelius' career with Primedia Outdoor began in November 1994 as part of the operations team. His responsibilities included outdoor and shelter advertising platform inspections and flightings.
Promoted to branch manager in February 1998, Cornelius' portfolio included the accountability operations and development of both the Mpumalanga region and the Swaziland operations. A mere two years later, he was appointed GM of the Eastern Cape Region, and took charge of all aspects of the Port Elizabeth and East London branches.
Cornelius applied for the position of sales executive in May 2001 and relocated back to Johannesburg to handle the Unilever, Robertsons and UNB accounts. He was soon appointed as GM of Primedia Outdoor Namibia in February 2002 and took over the reins of all aspects of the business. "My greatest success in this position was the acquisition of Creative Outdoor, a value-add to Primedia Outdoor, then, and now," he says.
Relocating to South Africa's Primedia Outdoor head office December 2003, Cornelius was promoted to assistant GM of the International Division, mainly focusing on developing and successfully launching new markets. In 2006, the positioned changed to that of operations and development manager, due to the fast growth track within the Africa Division.
