Siyayinqoba Beat It! starts new series
A new series of Siyayinqoba Beat It! presented by people living with HIV and AIDS starts on Sunday 16 October at 1.30pm on SABC1. The show is about the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS and offers a message of hope.
The 26-part series empowers viewers with information to help them respond effectively to the challenges of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Through short documentaries viewers meet inspiring people and experience the stories of living positively with HIV.
The programme moves beyond HIV/AIDS awareness and onto making informed decisions about sex, HIV testing and getting access to treatment. Siyayinqoba Beat It! encourages safer sex, living positively, treating opportunistic infections early and effectively and the use of antiretroviral medicines when needed. Siyayinqoba Beat It! encourages open talk and effective action to make the path of the next generation an easier one.
Siyayinqoba Beat It! is produced for SABC Education by Community Health Media Trust and sponsored by the MTN Foundation. Siyayinqoba Beat It! is supported by the Conference Workshop Cultural Initiative Fund and the Open Society Foundation for South Africa.
