Issues address include: teachers' salaries; training and development; resources; alleviating the impact of HIV and AIDS on the school system; feeding and transporting children; textbooks and the 11 official languages.

Ingrid Bruynse, Editor at SABC Education says: "All these issues are urgent and affect the daily working conditions for South Africa's 366 000 primary and secondary school teachers as they struggle to raise our children into well adjusted, informed, employable and responsible citizens."
