DStv enhances Rugby World Cup experience through interactive services

SuperSport and DStv are currently enhancing viewers' experiences of the Rugby World Cup 2003 through an additional service to complement the broadcast of every single World Cup game.

Available on DStv Channel 20 and 21 for the duration of the tournament, the interactive service includes value-added features such as fixtures, results, logos as well as player and in-depth tournament statistics.

SuperSport Zone's service will also feature a quiz known as the SuperRugby Quiz, which viewers can tackle daily between 10th October and 3rd November. The quiz poses six questions covering Rugby World Cup trivia, and players have 12 seconds to answer each question. Players need to get three questions correct in order to get a secret code, which can then be used to enter the competition through dialing a competition line. Prizes include Gilbert rugby balls as well as DStv Dual View decoders. Made possible by DStv's technologically advanced digital satellite-broadcasting platform, the SuperRugby Quiz service adds additional value and entertainment to the viewer's experience of the Rugby World Cup.

"Once again SuperSport Zone and DStv are combining forces to bring sports lovers the full experience from a major sports event. And apart from all the statistics on offer, the interactive quiz brings entertainment value to the viewer," says Ray Moore, General Manager of SuperSport Zone.

DStv is currently offering its lowest ever decoder pricing as part of a Rugby World Cup 2003 promotion. Renowned for its choice of sports channels and the extent of in-depth sports coverage, DStv is once again the only television broadcaster that will carry every one of the 48 World Cup games live on the SuperSport channels.
