New shows to further expand variety on kykNET
kykNET, the leading Afrikaans DStv channel, will be launching four new shows to further expand their already diverse offering to viewers.
This was announced at a recent function at the Saxon, hosted by kykNET, well-known TV personality Soli Philander and Oracle Airtime Sales.
The new shows offer advertisers fresh opportunities to target and associate their brands with a proudly South African channel. With Nou of Nooit, kykNET joins the reality TV genre. This is an adventure travel show in which brave couples participate in an adrenalin-laced weekend of physical challenges. The show starts on 4 July at 8pm. kykNET's first hard-hitting current affairs programme, Spits, premieres mid-August with fearless reporting and the pivotal theme of the search for truth.
On a lighter note, Klein Maar Getrein is a delightful family gameshow where kids tell it like it is, while Casper de Vries' Haak en Steek pokes fun at the soap opera genre and promises much hilarity.
Oracle's Andre Stadler confirms that kykNET is consistently the top-performing channel against DStv Afrikaans Adults on the DStv bouquet. Of the Afrikaans-speaking people who earn R8 000+ a month, more than 50 percent have Pay TV and as a result, access to kykNET.
Some 250 000 viewers watch kykNET on an average night and Stadler says DStv Afrikaans Adults spend three times more time watching kykNET than any other commercial channel on the DStv bouquet (an average of 20 minutes per day).
"The new shows have a broad appeal and are in line with kykNET's winning content formula which has helped them become one of the leading DStv channels," concludes Stadler.
