A teaser of a reality show

"It's a giant leap forward for actionX to produce local content and we trust that Stripteaze will attract a lot of viewers to our channel," says Tracey Nissenbaum, actionX's head of programming. "Up to now actionX has brimmed with action-packed, fast-paced international shows and movies geared at an ‘older' audience. Our first local reality show, Stripteaze, fits perfectly into this mix."

Auditions for Stripteaze, which will take place at Teazers branches across South Africa, will start soon. The competition is open to anybody between 18 and 35 years of age and includes amateur and professional dancers. Stripteaze performances are theme-based, and the performers will only strip down to their g-strings.

Forty girls and 20 guys will be chosen from the audition phases to compete in the first round of the competition. Each week, viewers at home will then vote for their favourite performers via SMS. The male and female performers with the most votes will then advance to the next round, after which they will compete for a place in the finals.

The winners will receive prizes to the value of R300 000. The winning Male Dancer will ride home on a Ducati motorcycle, while the best Female Dancer will get her booty into a brand new sporty 1.4 VW Golf.

The viewers at home are the judges and only they will decide who goes through, and ultimately who becomes the striptease champion. Lolly Jackson will be present in each episode, though, to give his opinion on each of the performances.

Auditions will take place at the following Teazers branches on the following days between 9am and 2pm:

23 July – Rivonia

24 July – Midrand
25 July – Boksburg
26 July – Pretoria
27 July – Cresta
30 July – Belville (Cape Town)
31 July – Loop Street (Cape Town)

1 August – Durban
