Mango Juice launches editorial initiative
Low cost airline Mango's in-flight magazine Mango Juice has announced a local tourism initiative whereby increased editorial exposure and select discounted advertising rates will be made available to South African hospitality, travel and associated sectors with a particular mandate to assist small to medium enterprises gain exposure while encouraging South Africans to explore their country.
"We are beefing up our destination content with the specific view of reporting, reviewing and providing destination attractions and entrepreneurial concerns such as guest houses with exposure," says editor Ingrid Jones. Furthermore, the magazine will launch an affordable advertising area in the magazine to make it possible for small businesses to advertise, too. "We are on a mission to support South African entrepreneurs within the domestic tourism market, and on routes that Mango operates on."
Explore our country
Jones adds that Mango Juice will ramp up other areas in the magazine designed to encourage South Africans to explore their country. "We are committed to changing the notion of 'local is lekker' to 'local is best'. South Africa has so much to offer and often vast areas of the country remain unexplored by the majority of travellers." She says that destinations both off the beaten track and well-known would be considered. "If it is a quality attraction, we will endeavour to cover it," she says.
