Effective as from Monday 17 April 2006, the “Radio Medium with Michaela” time slot extends to include every weekday between 8pm and 9pm in Andrew Sorril’s evening show. In addition, Michaela will continue her regular slot on Mondays between 12pm and 1pm.
First introduced to the station’s listeners as a tester during mid-morning programming in July 2005, Lloyd Madurai, programming manager at Jacaranda 94.2, says listener response to Michaela has been exceptional: “We have received an incredible amount of mail from people wanting to make contact with Michaela. At times, her incoming mail far exceeds that of some of the biggest competitions we’ve run.”
According to Madurai, the bulk of messages Michaela receives are from 30-something listeners who enquire about relationship and family matters (“Radio Medium with Michaela” also leads-up to the popular Love Zone slot which features weekdays 9pm - 10pm). Other age groups include 40 – 50-year olds asking questions relating to their children and the 20-year olds who lean more towards career-orientated queries.
