Parkinson on promotions

Parkinson says: "Promotions are very exciting for the listener, advertiser and presenter as each new promotion offers a new challenge. The client has an objective, if not two or three, the station wants to entertain and in turn increase market share and the presenters love to break new ground on air."

Parkinson brings a wealth of experience to the job and has presented a number of shows including the popular World Chart Show. He has anchored the sports desk for 567 CapeTalk and done a stint at East Coast Radio in Durban. He has been on the air for 94.7 for the last five years and in 2002 he accepted the position of programme co-ordinator which involved working with all the presenters behind the scenes.The last three years have seen him also project manage the Rude Awakening's Christmas Wish List.
