Who's new at Metro FM

Metro FM is handing over the microphones to hip-hop artist Proverb and former e.tv news anchor Nothemba Madumo, who will be joining the station in April 2008 as part of the new lineup. In addition station music compiler and house DJ Fistaz Mixwell will be making his debut on air on T-Bo Touch's Friday evening outing, with a live mix between 8pm and 9pm every week.

Madumo will be taking over from KG Moeketsi, who has left the station, and will now be hosting Sunday jazz from 6pm– 9pm. Also leaving the popular station in April are Shereez Govender and breakfast show newsreader Florence Leotaoba.

Sentle Lehoko will assume the reins of Govender's 6am – 10am Saturday breakfast slot, as well as her Sunday 9pm – midnight show. Refiloe Mphakanyane joins the weekday breakfast team as a commentator and taking over the news reading duties Monday to Friday.

In the only other change on the station, DJ Nutty extends his weekday evening mix of DJ sets and party tunes on The Nite Life Express to Saturdays, taking over the 10pm – 1am slot from Lehoko.

Channel O VJ Proverb will make his mark on what has traditionally been Metro FM's trainee slot, between midnight and 3am on Saturdays and Sundays. From April, the MC will co-host the show with the station's up-and-coming jocks.

The core weekday prime-time lineup remains unchanged, with Thomas, Azania, Penny, Glen and Unathi, and Robert continuing to keep listeners company with a mix of banter and beats.
