The 2014 PMR Diamond Arrow Awards are given to companies and institutions doing the most in their sectors over the past 12 months to stimulate the economic growth and development of Limpopo Province. "Our mandate has been to give back to the community and encourage community members to do the same," said Mr Cyril Chetty, MD at Capricorn FM. "This has put the station of choice in a good position over the past couple years. We will continue to be innovative, excellent and the trendsetters of this province," he added.
Capricorn FM has recently built a house for a disadvantaged family in Ga-Mphahlele, given away over 300 blankets in Limpopo during winter, given away cash prices, cell phones, a laptop to a student from University of Limpopo, and is giving away a brand-new Polo Vivo as part of their seventh birthday celebration.
Interaction with the public has been taken up a notch by basing communication through social media. Currently an application has been released that has features such as sharing and commenting on shows people like, and is available on the Android and iPhone platforms internationally. A live audio-streaming link is also available for listeners.
These first-category awards were rated by a random, provincial sample of respondents comprising of MDs, CEOs, business owners, directors, managers and senior local and provincial government officials.
Capricorn FM broadcasts 24 hours throughout Limpopo with five transmitters covering the main towns and areas surrounding them with over 1.4 million listeners.
