World Cup Soccer on satellite radio
Cup coverage will be available in South Africa on WorldSpace's "talkSPORT," (channel 500) and on BBC Radio (channel 357).
"We are very excited about the broadcast of FIFA World Cup 2006 on WorldSpace Satellite Radio. Through talkSPORT and BBC, WorldSpace will offer subscribers a powerful mix of World Cup content," says Hamza Farooqui, managing director, WorldSpace Southern Africa. "We are pleased to be bringing this coverage of what is arguably the most closely followed sporting event worldwide," he adds.
Subscribers will have access to daily previews, fans' views, reactions and comments, venue profiles, live two-way reports, match summaries and team profiles of all 32 teams, as well as player profiles and interviews.
News clips from the press conferences, training grounds, players and coaches will also be broadcast, giving listeners access to some of the most diverse, high-quality World Cup-related programming.
