The BTA Awards were launched in Sandton in 2012 in association with Future Group's Business Traveller Africa magazine. The awards event was created for the South African business travel trade, covering all aspects of business travel, including the four main areas of hotels, airlines, car rental and travel management, along with related categories.

The objective of the Business Traveller Africa Awards is to reward excellence in South African business travel and to acknowledge those brands and entities that have performed with excellence over the past 12 months.
Keeping it in the family, Tsogo Sun's Sandton Convention Centre won the Best Venue in the Large Conference Venue category in the BTA Awards.
Though only in their second year, the BTA Awards is rapidly finding a niche as an awards event that acknowledges the industry's top performers.
