The 12-month courses are aimed at empowering young people to become employable with SETA-accredited courses, such as: end-user computing and how to start and run a small business. Acquiring crucial computer and business communication skills will help learners increase their employability.

Based in Protea Point and Diepkloof Square shopping complexes in Soweto, the learning centre locations allow ease of access to free education for community members. The opening of these two sites follow the launch of the Educo Solutions Alex Plaza learning centre, with more to open around the country.

In addition to empowering young people through its NQF and SETA-accredited courses, Educo Solutions will be offering dedicated and high-performing students the opportunity to earn a subsidiary income through part-time work whilst studying.

After the first day of registration at the new centres on Monday, Chris Mcinga, Educo Solutions COO, said: “We have been pleased by the initial turnout for registrations in Soweto and encourage the youth of Soweto, between the ages of 18 and 28, who are unemployed to come down to one of our Soweto learning centres and register for a course that can change their lives. We’re striving to make a meaningful impact to South Africa’s unemployment crisis, which can only be solved by implementing meaningful skills development training at scale, where students acquire the necessary skills to become employable. We look forward to welcoming young South Africans to an Educo Learning Centre in their community."

Both centres are open for registration from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 4pm.
