Heart 104.9FM celebrates Annual Spring Dip
Spring Dip is an annual Heart 104.9FM event which takes place in the first week of Spring each year.
Currently in its fourth year, the main objective of the event is for the DJ's and the station to connect with its listeners and to promote beach and water safety. The Marine and Costal Law Enforcement Unit of the City of Cape Town and the Muizenberg Lifesaving Club will join the Heart FM team on the beach and will use the event as a tool to create awareness about sea safety during the upcoming beach season.
Heart FM DJ's, local celebrities and representatives from the city's media are invited to attend and participate in a range of fun activities planned for the day. All attendees are enticed to brave the cold waters and dive into the ocean as a celebration of the coming of Spring.
This year's Spring Dip will take place on Muizenberg Beach on Saturday, 7 September 2013 between 9am and 2pm with a packed programme including: beach volleyball, rugby and cricket. There's also tons of fun for the kids including: jumping castles, face painting, treasure hunt and sandcastle building. The brand new addition to the day will be "Dunk the DJ", giving the listeners a chance to have fun with our DJ's.
Lifesaving demonstrations by the Muizenberg Lifesaving Club are guaranteed to enthral the audience and give both adults and children some valuable tips relating to safety on the beach and in the sea over the coming festive period.
Two popular traditions that have become entrenched at Heart FM's annual Spring Dip are the "Dance Off's" and the "Mass Dip".
