The film festival will showcase a diverse range of Irish filmmaking talents, focusing on themes that have been significant in the development of Irish society. The films Kings, Inside I'm Dancing, Frontline, Seaview and Small Engine Repair focus on more contemporary social issues. The documentary film Dambe - The Mali Project is a musical adventure following an Irish musician's journey to the Festival au Desert in Mali.

Also included is a recent Irish animation, The Secret Of The Kells, which reproduces the story of the writing of the Book of Kells, an ancient Irish manuscript. This was the first animated production to come out of Ireland and headlines the festival.

“The producer of The Secret Of Kells, Paul Young, will be attending the opening night of the festival. Liam O'Maonlai of Dambe - The Mali Project will also be in attendance” said Mark Harris, content and marketing head for Nu Metro Cinemas.
