Effortlessly joining the success of its predecessors, all three single releases from this fourth album, (Breathing, Train Ride and Future Sunshine), went instantaneously top 10 in the SA Airplay Charts. Watershed owns a style which is not typically pop, not typically rock, but simply Watershed.
4 April - Old Mutual Encounter - Tidal Waves and friend: Tumi Molekane
Original reggae music with traditional African musical influences, like maskandi and mbaqanga is what Tidal Waves' fame is built upon. The sound is original roots reggae with strong rock, ska and blues strands. Tidal Waves are widely respected in South African music circles as an honest, hard-working band with an original sound, vibes and a dynamic live performance. Bringing Tumi Molekane on stage with them is a stroke of genius as this young man - MC, poet and wordsmith - brings his own honest lyrics into the mix and inspires with his social relevance.
