The Dirty Skirts and their support band Fight Fire with Fire marked the first time that the relatively young Club Chevelle had a live band grace its modest stage. Things got off to a late start with Fight Fire with Fire only taking to the stage around 11; just as well we arrived fashionably late.
I am trying to think of something to say about the first band of the night but petty much drawing a blank, obviously not that memorable. Um... a rock band without a difference. But if you want to find out a bit more about them go here.
The Dirty Skirts summoned most of those there into the back room at Chevelle as they took to the stage and played all their favourites. One of the nice things about the band setup at Chevelle is that though the stage is small it is not much higher than the floor so allows fans to get up real close and personal. And speaking of fans getting up close and personal I spotted a fan I had seen at a previous Dirty Skirts gig (as he was wearing the same hat) who managed to sneak into my review then and has just done so again. Although not quite as enthusiastic as last time he did do a fair bit of jumping up and down.
Although as good as ever I might officially be Dirty Skirted out now and could do with a break for at least another week or so till seeing them again at Mercury on the 15 May.
