Up the Creek to celebrate 30-year reunion at the Breede River in 2020
In 2020, Up the Creek will celebrate 30 years since it first launched. The first Up the Creek festival was held in 1990!
To celebrate, Up the Creek’s 30-year reunion at the river will take place at the Breede River outside of Swellendam in the Western Cape from 6 to 9 February 2020. For the reunion, the fest will be bringing back some epic throwback acts that have rocked stages over the last three decades.
“Up the Creek is the kiffest festival in South Africa hands down! What an honour to be there for the 30-year reunion three days before my 32nd birthday. Can’t believe I was two when it all began. Do you see that? That’s quick maths! What a vibe.” – David Scott, The Kiffness.
The initial 18 artists have been announced: The Kiffness, Hot Water, Albert Frost and Tubatsi Mpho Moloi, Gerald Clark, Southern Wild, Bam Bam Brown, Bombshelter Beast, The Toast, The Blues Broers, Crosscurrent, Sutherland, Poor Princes, Warongx, Orah and the Kites, Half ‘N Half, Amy Ayanda, Basson Laubscher and Little Ringo.
Over 32 more bands will be announced soon.
