Superbalist In The City announces Friday line-up
Hosts, And Club, will celebrate their third birthday on Friday 7 October 2016 in association with legendary underground event TOYTOY. Nothing says a birthday party like a crazy clubbing experience to kick-off the #SxITC2016 Weekend with this powerful line-up of the best in electronic, techno and house music across two stages, until the early hours of the morning.
The INNER CITY. OUTER SPACE. stage
The INNER CITY. OUTER SPACE. Stage welcomes Eats Everything (Edible), Ricardo Da Costa, 2lani The Warrior and Keren Onay.
Daniel Pearce, better known as Eats Everything, will headline the INNER CITY. OUTER SPACE. Stage. In early 2015, Dan Pearce delivered a two-CD compilation, ‘Fries With That’, launching the mix with a very special intimate Boiler Room party from his favourite fish and chip shop in Bristol earlier this year. Recently, Dan has played sets at Snowbombing, Ultra Music Festival and Coachella as part of JESuS (Jackmaster + Eats Everything + Skream + Seth Troxler).Ricardo da Costa is funky house DJ and producer based in Joburg. He plays bass heavy house with slick funk, tribal grooves, seductive vocals and dark sounds. 2Lani The Warrior has been breaking down dance floors all over the South African club scene since 1997. 2Lani is famed for his trademark ‘sweet’ house sound and a flawless technical mixing style. Keren Onay is synonymous with a fiery blend of groovy tech and soulful house. This unique fusion merged with a vibey enthusiastic persona creates an explosive experience for any crowd.
The TOYTOY Stage
The TOYTOY Stage will feature Zolabuddé, Sound Sensible and Andi Dill.
Zolabuddé is made up of Fabio and Dogstarr. A duo that has been producing music together since 2009. They have an intrinsic understanding of each other’s music and style, which means they feed off, and complement each other, creating journey-based sets that are an eclectic mix of techno, disco and electronica. TOYTOY residents, Sound Sensible, are brothers Grant VR and Craig Placid. Having coined the phrase “the kids want techno”, with more than 12 years’ experience as a duo the two have matured into stalwarts of the SA techno scene.
Another TOYTOY resident, Andi Dill’s style is best described as driving, powerful techno, yet he has a way of weaving complex layers together to create his signature sound.
Doors open at 9pm.
Launch tickets are R120 and door tickets R180. Book online (it’s cheaper) here
