Ultra returns with six parties

Ultra South Africa, the electronic dance music festival, is to return in January and February with six Ultra Countdownparties, which will tour the country and include both Cape Town and Joburg.

Shaun Duvet, Co-Founder of Ultra South Africa, said: "Electric Music culture originated on the floors and through the beats of nightclubs. We feel these parties are a great way to get them involved in the Ultra family as well as preparing Ultranauts for the pending madness. It also gives local artists a chance to take centre stage and be a part of the global Ultra journey. Most of all, though, Ultra Countdown gives us the opportunity to build the excitement and anticipation for the festival in February 2015."

Six parties will be taking place in Cape Town and Joburg. The dates and venues are:

Saturday, 24 January: The Sands, Joburg. 2pm. Line-up : Euphonik, Harael Salkow, Household Funk, Shaun Duvet, Saubomb, Kyle Cassim Vin Groovin, Vimo, Miami Jays, Kimmy K, Pat le Funk, Essential Grove and more. Tickets R150 from www.ultrasouthafrica.com or R200 at the door.
Thursday, 29 January: Nicci Beach, Joburg. 8pm. Line-up: Vin Groovin, Tashy, Kyle Cassim, Pretty Filthy and more. Tickets: Ladies free before 9pm, babe cards free before 10pm, student cards R40 before 10 pm. After 10pm R60.
Sunday, 1 February: Shimmy Beach Club, Cape Town. 2pm. Line-up: Dean Fuel, Shaun Duvet, Stange Lovers, Chris de Vos, Ian Skene, Knight Rider, Jet Treger and more. Tickets R100 from www.ultrasouthafrica.com or R150 at the door.
Thursday, 5 February: Harem, Joburg. 10pm. Line-up: Saubomb, Misterio, Voodoo, Essential Groove, Nick Essential and more. Tickets from R150 at the venue on the night of the event.
Saturday, 7 February: My Backyard and Nicci Beach. 2pm. Line-up : Marc Maya (El Row, Barcelona), De La Swing (El Row, Barcelona), Tony Varga (El Row, Barcelona), DJ Fresh, Vimo, Ricardo Da Costa, Household Funk, Mark Stent, Nick Essential , Mary Jane, Pretty Filthy and more.
