Nedbank has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with VWV Massive that will see the festival reaching three of South Africa's cities, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, under its new name.
The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival, presented by Nedbank, is the first of its kind. It made a debut in 2013 highlighting British acid jazz outfit, Jamiroquai in Johannesburg. The second instalment held in May 2014, brought on three British music acts - the Brand New Heavies, Soul II Soul and acid jazz outfit, Incognito.
"The Festival is a great concept and a vehicle for people to connect with lifestyle brands in a festive and entertaining setting. This sponsorship embodies the bank's ethos of 'Make Things Happen', supports our contribution to the development of the arts and promotes tourism in South Africa. We are humbled to be part of this ensemble, as the festival enjoyed much love from Joburgers," notes Sydney Mbhele, Divisional Executive: Group Marketing at Nedbank.
For the first time, the Cape Town leg will have the Nedbank Green Wine Garden, offering the best in wine tasting from award winning South African wine farmers who continue to embrace farming in a more sustainable eco-friendly way. The Green Wine Garden will be an ongoing feature in the festival in 2015 - cementing the partnership between Nedbank and VWV Massive.
Associated sponsors include Whirlpool, Mitsubishi Motors, Nescafe Dolce Gusto and Heart FM.
Nedbank will provide PocketPOS, the first live EMV certified mobile point-of-sale (POS) solution in South Africa, which will enable revellers to shop for gourmet goodies at the artisan food market using their debit or credit card.
