Dance Umbrella ready to entertain dance-lovers
Dance Umbrella 2012 will leap onto various stages all over Johannesburg from 17 February to 4 March 2012. Contemporary dance-lovers will once again have the unique opportunity of seeing South African contemporary dance in all forms.
New works, both local and international, can be seen at the Market Theatre, the Dance Factory and the Goodman Space, Arts on Main. The 2012 programme will be jam-packed with new and exciting works from local choreographers of the ilk of Alfred Hinkel, Jay Pather, Mark Hawkins, Moya Michael, Robyn Orlin, Vincent Mantsoe and Athena Mazarakis, (in collaboration with Hansel Nezza, a choreographer from Germany).
Other companies appearing at Dance Umbrella 2012 include the First Physical Dance Co from Grahamstown and Louise Coetzer from Cape Town.
