Introdans to perform at the Baxter and KKNK in April

This season will mark Introdans' fourth visit to South Africa, and this time the Introdans Ensemble for Youth will be presenting a diverse family programme entitled Celebrations that is suitable for adults and children alike. Voorintholt stated that Celebrations will include masterpieces such as Pas de Dans by Mats Ek, Polish Pieces/Sticky Pieces/Bits and Pieces by Hans van Manen and Promenade by Robert Battle, all colourful, beautiful and magical works that have earned great acclaim wherever and whenever they have been performed.

The company successfully and continuously presents high quality modern ballet performances on the themes Old masters, Contemporary partners and New talent. Under Roel Voorintholt's Artistic Directorship, Introdans was founded in 1971 by Hans Focking and Ton Wiggers and the Patron is H.R.H. Princess Margriet of The Netherlands. The company travels widely, both locally and internationally, and attracts a broad audience worldwide, with various outstanding and world-renowned choreographers regularly creating ballets that uniquely combine both classical elements and modern techniques. The impressive Introdans repertoire also contains works by Nils Christe, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Jirí Kylián, Paul Lightfoot & Sol León, Alwin Nikolaïs, Inbal Pinto amongst others.

Celebrations takes place at the Baxter Theatre for four days only, from 2 to 5 April, followed by a short season at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival on 8, 9 and 10 April.
