SA architects expand Mali hotel
The construction of a new wing for the existing Radisson Blu Bamako will result in 117 additional rooms and new public areas added to the hotel in the Malian capital, Bamako.
The project will be driven by Source IBA's Johannesburg-based designer and partner Andrew Merrington, who said that the design concept for the new project will feature a combination of Radisson Blu's Scandinavian heritage combined with West African influences.
Construction already commenced
"We are excited to be part of this project and further our association with the premier Radisson Blu brand, having already worked on the Radisson Blu Port Elizabeth. Construction has already commenced and we're aiming to complete the project within 12 months," he added.
This project adds to Source IBA's growing design portfolio in Africa. The design company is actively involved in work in the Seychelles, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Angola, the DRC, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
