The search is on... Could you be the Rand Show's MiTalent 2017 winner?
This annual show is on the hunt for talented but as-yet-undiscovered singers, dancers and comedians who have a song in their heart, rhythm in their feet, and stars in their eyes.
There are big cash prizes up for grabs in this year’s competition. The best of the best will win R15,000, second place wins a cash prize of R10,000, and third place takes home R5,000. All top three contestants will also win an Instax Mini 8 camera plus film valued at R1,200 from Fujifilm.
For a shot at these prizes and the title of the Rand Show’s most talented, just show the judges how talented you are in any type of amateur entertainment; sing, dance, do stand-up comedy... as long as it’s entertaining.
Talented hopefuls have until Wednesday, 12 April 2017, to email their two-minute-long entry video or sound clip to az.oc.wohsdnar@tnelat. (Remember that the Rand Show is a family-friendly event, so be sure your act is appropriate.)
Entry to MiTalent is free, but shortlisted contestants must purchase a ticket to enter the Rand Show.
Once the judges have reviewed each entry, they will notify contestants of the date and time when they’ll need to appear live at the Rand Show on the Showtime Stage: performance slots are 10am to 12pm on 17-21 April 2017.
Contestants whose live performances stand out from the rest, and who wow the judges with their talent, showmanship and stage presence will be invited to the final event, at 11am on the final day of the Rand Show, Sunday, 23 April.
There’ll be other great talent up on stage over the course of the Rand Show, with top performers set to keep the crowds entertained, the likes of Kurt Darren, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Karlien van Jaarsveld, R&B band The Rockets, and Gavin Edwards from The Voice SA.
And that’s just a part of the lineup of top-class entertainment at this year’s Rand Show. South Africa’s biggest consumer expo is the only show to offer attractions covering everything from sport, motoring, military, and science and technology, to design, animals, gardening, health and beauty... there’s an entire day out for the whole family packed into each Rand Show ticket.
