Majola withdraws from CSA hearing, goes to court over dismissal
Majola has also cited retired judge Chris Nicholson, the South African Sports and Olympics Committee (SASOC), and advocate Karel Tip as respondents in papers filed at the Johannesburg Labour Court.
Nicholson chaired the inquiry instituted by Mbalula over IPL II bonuses that Majola paid himself and other CSA staff. The inquiry found Majola guilty of breaching his fiduciary duties. It recommended a disciplinary hearing by CSA as well as investigation of possible criminal charges. Although Majola testified at the Nicholson inquiry, he is now challenging the inquiry's legality.
According to CricketCountry, Majola last week withdrew from the CSA disciplinary hearing, which is continuing in his absence and is expected to be finalised in the next few days.
