SARU judicial officer to rule on complaint

The South African Rugby Union is currently reviewing documentation relating to a complaint that the Griffons and the Vodacom Free State Cheetahs fielded ineligible players in the Absa Currie Cup First Division and the Absa Currie Cup Premier Division respectively.

Judge Lex Mpati, chairman of the National Judicial Committee, has appointed Dekker Govender of Durban as the Judicial Officer to deal with the matter. Dekker will inform SARU on Friday on the outcome of his decision.

The complaint relates to the loan appearance for the Griffons in Absa Currie Cup First Division fixtures of Free State Cheetahs players Hennie Daniller, Jandre Blom and Jacques-Louis Potgieter.
