Celebrity Chef Series raises R43,915 so far

Col'Cacchio Pizzeria's has raised R43,915 in the first two months of its six-month Celebrity Chef Series, but much more is needed. All of the money raised goes towards a critical upgrade for the Children's Hospital Trust's dedicated specialist Burns Unit - the only one of its kind in Africa.

Col'Cacchio has been raising money in aid of the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital with its Celebrity Chef Series 2010 since the beginning of April. It builds on last year's campaign that raised more than R120 000 for the hospital. The Celebrity Chef Series has six of South Africa's finest chefs creating signature pizzas, which are sold on promotion - one each month - and allows customers to sample the exciting football-inspired creations. June's masterpiece is a Calzone flavoured with Tandoori Chicken in a Tomato Chow Curry, Mrs Ball's Orginal Chutney mixed with fresh coriander and aptly titled the "Bunny Chow." With every special gourmet celebrity pizza sold, R5 is donated to the Children's Hospital Trust. All of the donations will go towards the upgrade of the Burns Unit.
