    2016 Western Cape Eat Out Everyday Eateries announced

    This year's Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Best Everyday Eateries in the Western Cape have been announced. The winning restaurants gained the highest average ratings given by Eat Out website users between 1 October 2015 and 30 September 2016.

    Eat Out also awarded ‘highly commended’ certificates to the eateries that were crowd favourites, but didn’t receive enough reviews to win.

    The winners for the Western Cape are:

    Best Asian Eatery

    Active Sushi (Bree Street) – winner
    Tjing Tjing Torii (City Bowl) – highly commended

    Best Bistro

    Betty Blue Bistro (Hermanus) – winner
    The Stack (Gardens) – highly commended

    Savanna Best Burger Eatery

    Gibson’s Gourmet Burgers & Ribs (V&A Waterfront) – winner
    Jerry’s Burger Bar (Observatory) – highly commended

    Best Coffee Shop

    Meraki (Stellenbosch) – winner
    Pajamas and Jam (Strand) – highly commended

    Best Country-style Eatery

    Karoux (McGregor) – winner
    The Post House (Greyton) – highly commended

    Best Indian Eatery

    The Indian Chapter with Prim Reddy (Bloubergstrand) – winner
    Sundoo (Sea Point) – highly commended

    Best Italian Eatery

    True Italic (City Bowl) – winner
    Locanda at Villa 47 (City Bowl) – highly commended

    Best Steakhouse

    The Eatery Wood Fired Grill (Claremont) – highly commended

    Wild card

    Hoghouse Barbecue & Brewery (Ndabeni) – winner

    The public’s favourite eateries in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State and Mpumalanga will be announced at the Johannesburg leg of the awards on 25 October.
