Wan will be joined by a line-up of industry experts, including supermodel manager Marlon, whose clients include Victoria's Secret superstar Candice Swanepoel, Dominique Piek and Genevieve Morton. The Make Me Conference, in association with Edgars, ghd and Revlon SA, aims to give aspiring models and stylists valuable insight into the fashion world.
"The Make Me Conference builds on our Make Me a Model/Make Me a Stylist campaign, which we launched in the magazine almost a year ago," said Cathy Lund, editor of Cosmopolitan. "The idea was to create an opportunity for aspiring models and stylists to live their fashion dream. The day-long Make Me Conference will be the perfect learning and networking event for anyone who wants to know what it takes to make it in the glamorous world of fashion.
"In addition to Gok Wan and Marlon, the speakers also include international model sensation Candice Boucher and photographer Josie Borain, who'll share their insider secrets. It's hard to select individual speakers to highlight as each is a specialist in his or her own right," added Lund.
Tickets to the event are R675 each and are available at www.cosmopolitan.co.za. Tickets go on sale today, 14 February, 2014.
Cosmopolitan will be giving away a limited number of tickets via social media. To stand a chance to win them, readers need to post a selfie including their March issue of Cosmopolitan, with the hashtag #COSMOMakeMe. Selfies posted on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will be considered. Deadline for entries is 3 March, 2014. Three winners will be selected randomly and notified. Transport to and from the event, as well as accommodation, is not included in the prize.
