Assembly Radio is turning two in July and in celebration it's throwing a huge party and launching a brand new website: assemblyradio.com.

The company behind Assembly Radio, For Music Lovers (FML), have fine-tuned the listening experience by observing how users interact with the station.

"Our users are more inclined to interact with us via social media. So assemblyradio.com was created to take all of this into account and make it easier for our fans to engage," a spokesman said.

The new website also eliminates all the previous obstacles that users were faced with when wanting to tune in. All it takes is one click on to the site and the radio player starts. Once you're on the new site, everything you need is conveniently placed in front of you.

The new layout has been carefully considered and made to create a streamlined and interactive environment, as well as adding an important visual element to the listening experience.

With the launch of the new website, Assembly Radio is also adding a whole new roster of shows to its line-up, including: Cold Turkey, Jamie Saint, The Underground Radio Show and Kiss & Tell with Lady Skollie.

This adds to an already strong line-up of shows, some of which have been with Assembly Radio from the very beginning like: The Das Kapital Radio Show, Texxed up Tuesdays, My Perspective, Paid Dues and the Rock n' Rollercoaster. Check out the full line-up of shows on www.assemblyradio.com.

Mobile apps

Assembly Radio's mobile apps on iOS and Android are proving to be popular amongst users. The evolution of the medium means that radio isn't stuck on the kitchen shelf or in the car anymore. The medium has evolved along with its audience. Assembly Radio is with you wherever you go, in your pockets on smartphones and in your bags on laptops and tablets.

Assembly Radio's live events have also been gaining traction. Being able to stream from the venue and also from remote locations gives Assembly Radio a very unique advantage. In April, Assembly Radio streamed live from the adidas Area 3 location in Joburgs Maboneng Precinct. Jozi influencers were interviewed and heard across the country and the world.

In July Assembly Radio will be reprising its successful Rock n' Rollercoaster live event, in which they shift Dylan Culhane's rock show from the studio booth to the main stage at the Assembly, streaming live interviews and unique performances of some of South Africa's most renowned artists and bands in front of a packed out audience giving attendees a chance to join in and ask questions of their own.
