Cell C Moooooves international CowParade to SA

South Africa will be hosting a Bull Run of a different kind when Cell C brings the world's largest public art gallery, the CowParade, to SA. Officially launched last week, the CowParade for charity will be sponsored by Cell C.

CowParade International, which has already stampeded its way through New York, London, Tokyo and Auckland (Australia) to rave reviews, will be seen in SA cities later this year. Beneficiaries are CHOC (Children Haemotology and Oncology Clinics), the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa.

"We are pleased to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer while at the same time bringing the world's largest public art display. CowParade gives expression to the hitherto untapped talent and creative spirit of our country's artists," said Cell C Chairman and CEO, Talaat Laham.

CowParade provides local artists with a novel platform to expose their talent and showcase their designs and 'cowporates' throughout the country are encouraged to buy a bovine and cowmmission artists to paint them for a fee. Proceeds raised from purchasing these colourful cows will be donated to CHOC.

At least 100 cows will be grazing some of the country's three major cities, culminating in a public auction early next year for charity. As part of the partnership with CHOC, Cell C will be beefing up its 'herd' to 30. Cell C's herd will be on display from the 16 - 22 of August at Sandton City lower mall for people to view the cows being painted.
