Afrika Tikkun helps empower the next generation of South Africans with its unique model of interconnected core services that develop children and strengthen families from 'cradle to career'. It believes that every child deserves a fair start in life, more especially the disadvantaged South African township children who face situations beyond their control.
The patron-in-chief, Nelson Mandela, said, "The Tikkun project demonstrates, in a practical and sustainable manner, what can be done with limited resources, great commitment and passion. The challenge to reach all the disadvantaged people of South Africa remains a paramount one. We need all the resources, both human and financial to address these challenging tasks. It is my belief that Tikkun represents the best of what civil society can offer in partnership with government's considerable efforts."
