Joburg Arts Alive on schedule
One of the first artists to rewrite the rap style guide by fusing a ragga-inspired, halting rhyme style laced with complex lyrics will hit South African stages this September when annual arts extravaganza, Joburg Arts Alive, brings Busta Rhymes to perform at Johannesburg Stadium on Saturday 3 September 2005.
The Joburg Arts Alive International Festival starts on Thursday 1 September and runs to Sunday 4 September 2005 across various venues in Johannesburg and features a wide range of cultural art forms including music, visual art, theatre, spoken word, comedy and dance.
Supporting Busta Rhymes are PROkid and KB and the festival line up also includes Freedom to Dance; Africa Unites in Newtown featuring African jazz and world music acts from around the continent; Jozi Spring Celebration; Comedy Nine Nine; Jozi Rocks; Jazz on the Lake; Spiritual Experience; two theatre productions - Sophiatown and Bling; and Festival of Dance.
